<p>Transverse sections of hemisectioned spinal cord were immunostained with CD11b to label infiltrating macrophages and activated microglia. Examples from wild-type (A) and EphA4 knockout (B) spinal cords 4 days post-injury are shown; the square surrounds the CD11b+ lesions on the left hand side of the spinal cord. There was no difference between genotypes in the proportional area of CD11b immunoreactivity within the injury epicentre at 2, 4 or 14 days post-injury (D).
