Presence/absence matrix of 112 amphibian species occurring in the Mediterranean Region throughout a system of operational geographic units (OGUs) based on river basins, by merging the Level 6 subdivisions of the US Geological Survey (1997) HYDRO1k data set for Europe and Africa. Distribution maps of the extent of occurrence for each amphibian species known to inhabit the study area were downloaded from the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, version 2010.4 (http://www.iucnredlist.org, downloaded on 1 April 2010)
