<div><h3>Background</h3><p><em>Salmonella enterica</em> subspecies <em>enterica</em> serovar Typhimurium is a Gram-negative pathogen causing salmonellosis. <em>Salmonella</em> Typhimurium-targeting bacteriophages have been proposed as an alternative biocontrol agent to antibiotics.
