<p>(A) The LINE-1 amplicons were 160 bp and had 2 CpG dinucleotides. Four patterns of methylated CpGs were detected, including hypermethylation (<sup>m</sup>C<sup>m</sup>C), hypomethylation (<sup>u</sup>C<sup>u</sup>C), and two forms of partial methylation (<sup>m</sup>C<sup>u</sup>C and <sup>u</sup>C<sup>m</sup>C). The <i>Tas</i>I enzyme targets unmethylated cytosine site 1, and <i>Taq</i>I targets methylated cytosine site 2.
