Randomly growing networks with (magenta ○) and without large GABA-ergic neurons (red ◊), as well as field-guided networks with (green □) and without large GABA-ergic neurons (blue •) are presented. In the presence of large GABA-ergic neurons field-guided networks started bursting 3 vDIVs earlier. For clarity, mean values and error bars representing standard deviations at a certain day were slightly shifted to avoid overlap.
