A section of the 2D gel image is shown, and the entire 2D gel image can be seen in <a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0045892#pone.0045892.s003" target="_blank">Figure S1</a>. The six most prominent proteins, which were also selected for identification by mass spectrometry, are circled in black and labeled (a–e).
