<p>High mortality countries are defined by a U5MR of more than 40 deaths per 1,000 live births in 1990, where U5MR estimates were constructed using the standard UN IGME method. The width is reported in number of deaths per 1,000 live births. Relative width is reported as a percentage of the U5MR point estimates.
