<p>250 pg of <i>Xenopus zfp36</i> (a, b, i, j), <i>zfp36l1</i> (c, d), <i>zfp36l2</i> (e, f) or mouse <i>zfp36</i> (<i>mzfp36</i>, g, h, k, l) mRNAs were injected into one blastomere of two-cell stage embryos and developing embryos were fixed at stage 25 (a–h and k, l) or stage 28 (i, j) and analyzed by <i>in situ</i> hybridization for <i>esr5</i> and <i>hairy2a</i> expression.
