<p><i>OsRecQ1</i> (QDE-3 in <i>Neurospora crassa</i>) and <i>OsRDR1</i> (QDE-1 in <i>Neurospora crassa</i>) are required for both aRNA and qiRNA biogeneses, respectively, after DNA-damaging agent (EMS or UV) treatment. qiRNAs may participate in a novel mechanism of regulation to the DDR in plants.</p
