<p>Plasma from study participants was processed and frozen on either the same day (n = 385) or following morning (Next Day, n = 25). Plasma and 3000 g supernatants were processed from these frozen samples. Boxplots (median level, 25% and 75% quartiles, and 1.5 * interquartile range) show the mtDNA level (copy number, y-axis) for each fraction.</p
