<p>Total numbers are mapped on to the GOODS provinces in <a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0043529#pone-0043529-g002" target="_blank">Fig. 2B</a>. Assignment of species to provinces is based on minimum depth records >800 m down to a maximum of 7000 m (GOODS lower bathyal provinces strictly apply to the range 800–3000 m but numbers beyond this depth are few).
