<p>(A) At each time point (every 12^th trial) subjects had to rate the expected change in temperature associated with each cue. Ratings for the aversive CS+ ranged from the least (0%) to the most certain expected (100%) pain exacerbation. (B) The right panel shows the averaged expectancy ratings for the initial learning process (i.e. first three ratings), defined as the period in which the difference between successive rating scores (averaged across treatment groups) was greater than zero (i.e. showing an increase).
