<p>Peritoneal macrophages from both young and middle-aged mice were stimulated with medium or LPS as described in the legends to <a href="http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0039224#pone-0039224-g001" target="_blank">Figure 1</a>.
