Aβ₄₂ levels are reduced 48 hours following induction of the cellular heat shock response.

<p>CAD cells were incubated with 3 µM Aβ₄₂ and/or 0.5 µM bovine rPrP^C. Immediately following addition of Aβ₄₂ or rPrP^C, the cells were subjected to heat-shock at 43°C for 40 minutes, allowed to recover for 48 hours, and washed in PBS prior to lysis. 30 µg of soluble cellular protein or 10 µl of the insoluble fraction was resolved by SDS-PAGE and subjected to Western blot analysis. Lower panel: CAD cells were incubated with the indicated increasing concentrations of Aβ₄₂ and/or 0.5 µM mouse (L42) rPrP^C. Data are representative of 3 separate experiments.
