<p>Neurons with different neurotransmitter-phenotypes developed from cloned populations of RGl-cells. Genes indicating noradrenergic (<i>Dbh</i>), serotonergic (<i>Tph2</i>) and cholinergic (<i>Chat</i>) neurotransmitter phenotypes were not expressed in neuron-rich cultures of any RGl-cells regardless of fetal or adult origin (<b>a</b>).
