Individuals carrying more risk alleles for high fasting glucose tended to have higher glucose levels at both fasting (<i>p</i> = 1.7×10<sup>−13</sup>) and 2 h during OGTT (<i>p</i> = 0.0009), lower HOMA-β (<i>p</i> = 0.0011), insulinogenic index (<i>p</i> = 0.0017), first- (<i>p</i> = 1.1×10<sup>−7</sup>) and second-phases (<i>p</i> = 0.0321) of insulin secretion.</p
