This resource is an OER produced as part of the Digital Futures in Education (DeFT) project funded as a part of the third phase of the HEA/JISC/UKOER programme. The project's aim was to develop guidance on digital literacy practices in education and the use of OER in teaching and learning. This case study focusses on pedagogical issues involved in using short videos as a method to improve pupils' communication skills. The teacher has created a documentary in which he showcases his pedagogical approach introducing 'stealth reading and writing'. He demonstrates the benefits and challenges of his approach which he calls 'A.F.O.R.' :alternative forms of recording.
