Learning to Teach Inclusively OER Videos. Deaf Awareness.

At the University of Wolverhampton under the Open Educational Resources Programme, jointly supported by JISC and the HEA, we are developing a multi-media open access module for HE staff - Learning to Teach Inclusively. As part of the project we are sharing series of video clips. This clip was taken from a workshop on Deaf Awareness in which lecturers in Sport and Education participated. The aim of the session was to provide the lecturers with key information about the needs and requirements of Deaf students and to help them think about how they might rethink their curriculum, assessment and pedagogy so that Deaf or hearing impaired students could participate as fully as possible in the mainstream activities, along with all students. Questions arose from this session around reasonable adjustments, working with Deaf support workers, fitness to practice standards, placements, curriculum and assessment.
