Get that job! An intensive employability programme for students close to graduation 

Get That Job! is an intensive, 2-day programme of employability skills workshops. It combines existing resources offered by the Careers and Confident Futures teams and shapes them into a coherent package suitable for students approaching the end of their time at university. It is designed to offer students a programme of personal development and job-seeking masterclasses, which will provide them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to compete successfully in the employment market. It blends approaches including interactive workshops, group discussion, self-evaluation, peer assessment and video feedback to build self-awareness and self-confidence in those who experience it. The intensive nature of the programme means that the number of participants is limited to 36, in order to ensure the quality of the experience for students. It is designed to operate both as a stand-alone course or to be integrated into a programme of study. The programme draws partly on the expertise of employers who are invited to participate in one of the practical exercises it contains, providing students with experience of interacting with professionals and constructive feedback from graduate employers. Get That Job! has been scheduled as an open workshop at the end of Trimester 2 and has been scheduled as a programme/subject area specific course within the MSc in Publishing in the School of Arts and Creative Industries and for postgraduate students in the School of Engineering and the Built Environment. NB: During 2010, Get That Job! was known as "Make An Impact".
