The ninth lecture in the module Particle Technology, delivered to second year students who have already studied basic fluid mechanics. The different mechanisms for the removal of dust from gases are covered and the design equations used for control, modelling and understanding of the equipment are presented and derived. Examples of industrial equipment for gas cleaning are included. This open educational resource was released through the Higher Education Academy Engineering Subject Centre Open Engineering Resources Pilot project. The project was funded by HEFCE and the JISC/HE Academy UKOER programme.
