A red-transparent population, distributed in Pingxiang of Jiangxi Province, was identified to be triploid Carassius auratus by DNA content measurement and chromosome analysis. Artificial propagation experiments indicated that the red-transparent triploid Carassius auratus could reproduce by gynogenesis.
