Analysis of hoof deformities and pathology

Work was prepared in Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LUHS), Veterinary Academy Clinics of large animals. Researche was carried out in horses stable of Vilnius, Anyksciai, Panevezys, Kauno district and small part in large animal clinic. The extent of the work: 38 pages, containing 1 table, 18 pictures. There were 37 references used. The aim of the research: investigate the prevalence of deformities in X horse stable, deformities dependence of their occurence during triming, which deformities are most common. There were 91 horses studied in this work, of which 41 horse these anatomical parts of the hoofs were mearurement: white line, hoof angle, hooves length and widht, forg lenght and widht. Equally deformed hoof were evaluated. Hoof trimming intervals time on the development of deformities of hooves and white line widening. Research results: found that the deformation of hoof have 73,60% horses. Deformations were found in the front legs more often than hind legs. Unshod horses‘ hooves were healther than than shod horses‘ hooves. Right hoof and pastern axis have 29,12% hoof pastern axis broken back found at 67,03% and the joint line was broken forward only 3,85% horse populiation. Often shoing hoof are healthier and didin‘t have widening white line. Hoof toe cracks are more common in horses, who land toe first, these cases make 71,40% of our investigated horses and 28,60%. of horses who have cracks landing on heels first.
