The paper provides the details of the implementation and testing of the Spalart-Allmaras model of turbulence in a 3D multi-block, multigrid upwind Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes code called MB-EURANIUM based on ideal gas assumption and developed at National Aerospace Laboratories Bangalore, India. The numerical approach employed to solve the turbulence model equation in an tin-coupled manner in a generalized body-fitted coordinate system is shown to be simple and found to be quite robust based on the testing of the model carried out so far. The model predicts reasonably well the location and strength of the transonic shock in a NACA 0012 test case, which involves shock-boundary layer interaction and flow separation.
