This thesis is carried out on request from Saab Avitronics in Jönköping. Saab Avitronics develops and produces electric actuators that are used to control the wing flaps on flying vessels, both for the civil- and military market. This project aims to study a new type of torque limiter that will be a part of an actuator. The main task of the torque limiter is to disconnect the driving torque if the system goes to an undesirable stop and thereby protect sensitive machine parts from being overloaded. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the parameters that influence on the functionality of the product theoretically and validate these studies with the results from practical experiments.
