Complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs) are increasingly being utilized in the pediatric cancer population, despite unproven risks and benefits, and significant additional cost of treatment. Objective: To identify the prevalence of CAM use and the most frequently utilized CAMs, and to examine the physiologic impact of CAM in pediatric cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
