The purpose of this study is to set forth the idea, already conceded generally, that Shakespeare was a supreme dramatic artist; that he became supreme through creative genius that affected all that came under his magic hand; that the purpose of his creative efforts was to produce a poetic, or dramatic, illusion. And the focal point of this paper will be that the ghost in Shakespeare was, in his own mind, as much his own creation as was any other dramatic device he used
