The Todilto evaporites of Upper Jurassic age were precipitated in a basin which covered more then 34,000 square miles of northwestern New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Arizona. The Todilto formation consists of a lower Limestone and an upper Gypsum member, and has a maximum thickness of a little more than 100 feet. Both members are varved
