The Relation Between Attendance and Achievement in the Third Grade of the San Jose School

Are teachers justified in the belief that the student who is frequently absent from school cannot acquire the fundamental education gained by the child who attends regularly? Does the child with greater intelligence attend school more regularly than the child of lesser intelligence? If not , does his greater intelligence make it possible for him to acquire the knowledge whether or not he attends school regularly? This study seeks to throw light on these questions by determining what relation exists between school attendance and achievement when intelligence is held constant
