This study alms to describe the behavior of speech directive contained in a collection of short stories of Memorable Woman by W.S.Rendra and describes the message conveyed by the author to the reader. The approach used is qualitative approach. Qualitative approach is the research methods of the social sciences that collect and analyze data in the form of words and deeds of human beings. The basic technique used in this research is the technique of referring to note. Techniques referr to the technique of listening to the speech contained in a collection of short stories of Memorable Woman by W.S.Rendra, then proceed with the technique of record. Technique note that the technique of recording speech or dialogue that contains the meaning of directive in a collection of short stories of Memorable Womna by W.S.Rendra. Based on the discussion found the result of research that behaves speech directive contained in a collection of short stories of a Memorable Woman by W.S.Rendra includes 6 behaviors of urgent directive, 16 behavior directive commands ruled, 2 behaviors speech directive pleading, 8 behaviors speech directive invites, 5 behaviors said directive request, 4 directive speech behavior propose, and 2 act directive prohibit directive
