Hubungan antara Jumlah Neutrofil dan Monosit dengan Tingkat Mortalitas pada Penderita Stroke Iskemik

Background: Stroke is a syndrome with rapidly growing clinical manifestations and may cause functional brain disorders lasting more than 24 hours. The description of ischemic pathology in stroke can lead to leukocyte infiltration that can accelerate and extend infarction. An increase in the number of neutrophils and monocytes can lead to a poor prognosis until death. Objective: This study aims to identify the relationship between the number of neutrophils and monocytes with mortality rates in patients with ischemic stroke. Method: This research type is analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The number of samples used as many as 146 samples consisted of 73 live patients and 73 patients died with consecutive sampling technique. The sample of research is medical record of ischemic stroke patient complete with leukocyte count and patient mortality. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square test followed by logistic regression test with computer analysis software. Results: The chi-square test of the relationship between neutrophil count and mortality rate showed p=<0.001 and RP=2.353 and the relationship between monocyte count and mortality rate showed p=0.002 and RP=1.985.
