This research studies about commissive utterances in English translation of Al Quran. The objectives of the study are to describe (1) the syntactic forms and (2) the speaker’s intention of commissive utterances, especially in surah An Nahl (The Bee). The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. In collecting the data, the writer uses observation and documentation method by selecting the commissive utterances which can be found in surah An Nahl (The Bee) and the steps are: determining the chapter, reading the chapter, sorting out sentences contain commissive utterance and coding the data.
