Seton Hall Libraries’ print book collection is extensive, especially in humanities disciplines, but has become quite dated in many subject areas. Reduced library budgets, increased demand for online resources and soaring journal costs have eroded our buying power for print books. Also demand for print books seems to be declining. With Middle States accreditation due in 2014, we need to assess library resources and collection development practices. As part of this process, I examined print book holdings and circulation with a focus on science books
