Impact of partial shading on photovoltaic with advanced MPPT scheme

The artistic response to Photovoltaic (PV) technology is to embrace it as a new window of opportunity and to apply it with wisdom, fearlessness, passion and delight. A PV system is an environmentally friendly design to reduce consumption of electricity from non-renewable energy sources. However, PV systems are vulnerable to weather conditions causing declination in power generation efficiency especially during irradiance and temperature variations. The stated variations are commonly caused by uniform and non-uniform partial shading. In this paper, detailed theoretical analyses of the impact of irradiance and temperature variations caused by partial shading on PV structure have been presented. The preliminary fragment of this paper provides literature review with mathematical model. The subsequent section offers details of the simulation analysis under diverse shading conditions. Afterwards, impact of partial shading on Perturbation and Observation (P&O) and Incremental Conductance based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques has been discussed. An innovative MPPT solution has also been proposed. Finally, key findings from the investigational study are provided
