An Indigenous Conversation: Arful Ethnography: A Pre-Colonised Collaborative Research Method?

In this paper, which is a read ‘conversation’, the intention is to take the reader\ud into the life worlds of its two author-researchers. An academic—Tarquam McKenna—and his colleague, an Australian Indigenous woman—Davina Woods—set\ud about ‘yarning’\ud \ud around art and its role as a vehicle for (re)searching their\ud lives. Never far from their thoughts was the 26 May, 1997, release of the Human Rights Equal Opportunity Commission’s (HREOC) report,\ud Bringing Them\ud Home: National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander\ud Children from Their Families,\ud which included mandated recommendations to the\ud colonising Australian people.
