The objective of this study was to give voice to women experiencing\ud psychiatric rehabilitation services in rural Victoria. A critical analysis of the\ud literature revealed a landscape of marginalisation and alienation for women\ud experiencing a mental illness in a rural area. This study used a\ud phenomenological method to explore the meanings of women's experiences.\ud The understanding of meaning was developed through a dual perspective\ud with women experiencing rural psychiatric rehabilitation and workers who\ud delivered these services.
