The electrochemical behaviour of a range of\ud halide and titanium halide redox couple combinations has\ud been evaluated for potential application in redox flow\ud cells employing common elements in both half-cells.\ud Cyclic voltammetry and cell cycling measurements were\ud employed to establish the reversibility of the redox couples\ud and the expected cell voltage and performance in a redox\ud flow cell. An all iodine cell was found to be impractical due\ud to the formation of an insoluble iodine deposit in the cell\ud that caused cell blockage.
