Along with a number of benefits, large penetration of distributed generation (DG) units in the distribution system imposes some serious challenges for power engineers. Slow voltage recovery under post-fault condition turns up as one of the most critical problems in small DG integration. Majority of the small DG units trip due to lack of fault ride-through (FRT) capability, and hence, challenges the overall system stability. This paper investigates and summarises the factors, which govern the voltage recovery process in transient condition.
