The Influence of English as a Second Language in Social On-Line Adolescent Communication: A Pakistani Scoping Study

This paper reports and discusses the findings of an\ud exploratory study on the influence of English\ud vocabulary in the on-line environment of Pakistani\ud adolescents. Some linguists, such as Sapir (1929) [1]\ud and Whorf (1940, 1956) [2] have claimed a close link\ud between culture and language, therefore, this study\ud explores whether the study of a foreign language\ud influences its use in an on-line environment, even\ud when individuals are communicating in their first\ud language
