This paper looks at the evolution of executive work and how this has impacted on remuneration strategy within organisations today. The author's research into executive work and remuneration in the top fifty listed companies on the Australian stock exchange is used to show what is happening in this area in these companies. What was found is that the way work is done is far more important in these companies that what is actually done. Even when an organisation has a strict policy of using job evaluation to determine job size, the impact of the individual is a major influence on this.\u
