In this thesis, a prototype of a table lamp has been developed. The operation of the lamp can be controlled on a smartphone or a tablet via a mobile application for the Android operating system. The lamp can also be controlled via a web application from any computer connected to the network. Users can choose between different modes of operation; among them, the most important is the circadian rhythm mode that provides the user with the optimal well-being lighting. The back-end part of the system, which responds to the actions of the user, is powered by a Raspberry Pi that in turn controls the table lamp via designed hardware prototype board.
