Measures to be taken in case of a nuclear accident are based on crucial data from radiological and meteorological readings. Meteorological data are important regarding the possible spread of radioactive contamination. A network of automatic measuring stations is set up throughout Slovenia, the highest concentration of stations is centered around the nuclear powerplant Krško. These stations are part of an early warning emergency network, which is managed by SNSA (The Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration) In terms with the membership in EURDEP (European Radiological Data Exchange Platform), the data accumulated via the network are shared with other members of the international nuclear safety community.
