The effect of host plant on the development and survival of the immature stages of euploea-core-corinna (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae)

The effects of 11 native and exotic host plants of Euploea core corinna (Macleay) on early instar survival and immature development were tested. Survival of first instars ranged from 94% (Nerium oleander) to ca 13% (Asclepias spp.). Host plant associations (N. oleander, Ficus benjamina, Parsonia straminea and A. fruticosa) also significantly affected immature development times, pupal weights, adult size and mortality in all instars.
