Confucianism is the doctrine that ruled Eastern Asian countries for thousands of years. The doctrine focused on the order of the society and the dependence among individuals in the society. One critique for Confucianism is the under-evaluation of women's role and presence in the society. In the thesis, I will detect Confucianism-related gender stereotypes appearing on feature interviews in the entertainment section of online newspapers in Vietnam, one of former Confucian countries. The thesis also makes the effort to connect the global journalism theory to the solution for removing gender stereotypes from journalism.
