Add to ORKGThis paper is about foster care in early 1900s Stockholm Municipality archives (Stockholms stadsarkiv). It covers 192 foster children. My sources are from Stockholm archive, written reports from obervations of foster homes. Added to this I have studied some literature related to the subject. When it comes to the family the most common foster family is a married couple, that has no children of their own and the foster child is about one year old when it arrives to the family. The father in the family is a farmer or has a job related to farming and the foster child is staying for the rest of its life in this family. The home is well kept
