Fletcher, presiding justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia and a 1958 alumnus of the University of Georgia School of Law, will deliver the address at the law school\u27s commencement exercises on Saturday, May 24. Ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. at the President\u27s Club Garden on the North Campus quadrangle or in the case of rain, in Stegeman Coliseum. Juris doctor degrees will be conferred upon approximately 200 students who have successfully completed three years of legal study. Twenty-nine Masters of Laws students, who have finished a one-year course of graduate legal studies, will be recognized. Selected faculty and student awards will also be presented. W. Tom Lacy and Kerry M. Harike, president and vice president of the 1997 graduating class, will speak on behalf of the students. Hosch Professor and Former Dean C. Ronald Ellington and Degree Program Assistant Linda A. Dudley were selected by class members as honorary marshals and will read the names of the graduates as they receive their diplomas. Emmet J. Bondurant II, president of the Law School Alumni Association, will welcome graduates into membership of the organization. Other speakers include: UGA President Charles B. Knapp, School of Law Dean Edward D. Spurgeon, and laMusic will be provided by The Athens Brass. The Athens-Clarke County sheriff will lead the graduation procession, as has been the tradition since the early 1800s
