International audienceBased on the analysis of a huge e-mail and chat corpus, this paper examines how affects are setting in discourse of self on the Internet. Our purpose is to show that SIC studies, strongly involved in the debate over digital technology, would win to discuss the genres of discourse, in its discursive analysis way, as an argument that cannot be ignored because of its multi-semiotic determinations in screen-writing on suffering.
