International audienceThis article proposes a qualitative method for estimating runoff sensitivity in Mediterranean rural area. Accordingto our approach we generate sensitivity maps at the local level. The method is tested on a catchment area located in Southof France and strongly affected by short but intense rainy episodes. The qualitative approach firstly consists in identifyingthe factors which impacting the phenomenon, either directly or indirectly. These elements, or variables, are evaluated andquantified using ranking factors. This storm runoff risk assessment methodology can be refined through a sensitivity analysisof the ranking and weighting factors.
