The purpose of this study is to do a garden-historical survey of the residential gardens of the swedish million program to complement the Swedish garden history. They are in both a time and knowledge gap where it is neither new nor very old. In order to understand these gardens, we also need to understand the single-family houses and the housing and social situation at the time. The study focuses on the garden’s color, form and spatiality. The source material studied consists of self-created empiricism using field studies of six objects and literature from the million program era.
