This article provides an argument for the thesis that solving the problem of psychopathic crime is essential to reducing crime, in general. The author argues that psychopathy is primarily psychological (not psychiatric) phenomenon that has important implications for criminology. Based on the results of empirical researches, all the relevant indicators of the contribution of psychopathy to crime were analyzed such as: the volume and types of crimes, offenses of violence, juvenile delinquency and recidivism. It was found that the most serious crimes, early delinquency, criminal career length, the frequency of the crimes, including the dark figure of crime and recidivism, are intrinsically linked to psychopathy.
