Structural damage detection is based on that the dynamic response of structure will change because of damage. Hence, it is possible to estimate the location and severity of damage leads to changes in the dynamic response before and after the damage. In this study, the genetic fuzzy system has been used for bridge structural health monitoring. A key objective of using genetic algorithms is to automate the design of fuzzy systems. This method is used for damage detection of a single span railway bridge with steel girders and a concrete bridge.
